Hi there, my name is Joy Macdonell and crafting is my passion. I have also been lucky enough to make it my career. With over 25+ years in the craft and tech industries. Sharing my passion for creativity, sewing, and knitting will forever be a primary goal in my work life.
For the past 4 years I have been a Sr. Channel Marketing Manager at Cricut – where I was lucky enough to be part of some amazing innovative product launches including: Infusible Ink, Cricut Joy, Explore 3 and Maker 3, MugPress, and 2 iterations of the EasyPress and an AutoPress! My Role as Channel Marketer was to ensure that Cricut products were visually merchandised in craft stores like Michaels, Joann, and Hobby Lobby. I was also responsible for omnichannel marketing communications using Salsify and BazaarVoice.
The previous 20 years, I was an Education and Creative Content Director at EK Success Brands and Simplicity Creative Group. Which means that I was able to teach people how to use the products the company created. My job provided me the opportunity to be a teacher for Craftsy and Creativebug, host television shows on the DIY network (Greetings, from DIY) and PBS (Crafting at The Spotted Canary). I have had many opportunities to be the guest representative for Martha Stewart Crafts® on the Home Shopping Network. I was also the Education Director for the Martha Stewart Crafts® brand since it launched in 2007.
Prior to starting my career with EK Success Brands in 2001, my sister and I owned the very popular scrapbook store in Fairfax, VA, My Scrapbook Store.
